Miguel Cotto and Antonio Margarito will finally meet on the 3rd of December 2011 for the Super Welterweight WBA World Championship at Madison Square Garden in New York.  As always when a big fight is about to happen, there is an increased interest in games pertaining to boxing.  If you have an Xbox 360, you may also be looking at what the best boxing games are.

Fight Night Champion has to be the best boxing game available for the Xbox 360.  The details are absolutely fantastic, not just in the overall look of the boxers, but also in the damage that is done to them during a fight.  In this game, you are a fictional boxer – one of the downsides to this game – and are in prison, where you have to fight a real bad guy with the other inmates as audience.  One of the great things about this game is that you have to play tactically.  It is possible to throw in punch after punch after punch, but this won’t get you very far.  You really need to figure out how to best defend yourself as well.  Fight Night Champion is the next instalment in EA’s Fight Night games and certainly the best one yet.

If you want to really box yourself, however, and you own the Kinect with your Xbox 360, you may want to look into Kinect Sports.  A simple game, reminiscent of Wii Sports, this game allows you to be the boxer through the fantastic Kinect experience – this means you are the fighter and don’t even need to hold a controller to make it so.

There are a range of other boxing games available for the Xbox 360, with or without Kinect, so you are sure to be able to find something that gives you that boxing thrill.

If you like boxing we also recommend you to watch Cotto vs Margarito live, it will certainly inspire you to play some kinect games!
